Quick tip of the day

Facebook loves to remind us of the past, and that’s not always welcome, for a variety of reasons. No problem — you can control this setting.

  • Open Facebook on your phone, and tap the three-line Settings icon.
  • Tap Memories, then the gear icon.
  • You can choose to get notifications for All MemoriesHighlights (special videos and collections, as deemed by Facebook) or None.

🔒 While you’re poking around in your FB settings, change these for better security.

Stop letting Yahoo and Gmail read your email

Stop letting Yahoo and Gmail read your email

I don’t trust Big Tech and you shouldn’t, either. You’ve heard me say for years that free email services like Gmail or Yahoo aren’t really free. There’s a big price to pay — your privacy. These free email sites scan, analyze and save details of every email you send and receive, giving Big Tech a very intimate and detailed profile of you so they can easily sell your data to the highest bidder.

That’s why I use StartMail. With StartMail, I can send encrypted emails with one click, even if the recipient doesn’t use encryption. And StartMail never scans or analyzes your emails. Best of all, when you delete an email, it’s gone — forever.

Don’t trust Big Tech with your data and privacy. Go to startmail.com/kim today for a seven-day free trial and 50% off your first year. →

How betting on games has consumed the sports world

It wasn't that long ago that online sports betting was illegal throughout the U.S. But over the last few years, it's become legal in many states and people can't get enough. In many places, you can now bet on virtually any game at any time, right on your phone. So how did we go from no online sports betting to these gambling companies airing dozens of ads every game?
