Images that contain more color complexity and are accompanied by complex copy attract more attention on social media, according to four studies analyzing Facebook posts and using biometric eye tracking, led by Vamsi Kanuri, associate professor of marketing at the University of Notre Dame. The research also found that posting larger complex color images on social media later in the day is more likely to generate engagement.
