In May 2020, FinTech startups across the globe raised $3.46 billion worth of VC/PE investments across 198 deals. In terms of MoM trends, there was a decrease of 3% from the $3.57 billion raised by FinTechs in terms of VC funding in April 2020. In terms of the number of deals, there was an increase of 23% MoM compared to 160 deals in April.

In region-specific terms, the Americas dominated global FinTech VC funding in March with 54% in contributions in terms of funding value ($1.87 billion) and 38.8% in terms of the number of deals (77). Asia placed second with 20.8% in contributions to global FinTech VC funding in May by value ($721 million) and 24.2% in terms of the number of deals (48).
