Give and Glow Day
On February 11th, Kentucky Science Center held its 9th annual Give and Glow Day. Each year, we dedicate a day to giving back to our community and volunteering at other non-profits all over Kentuckiana. Whether it's playing with puppies, planting trees, or just lending an organizational hand, we have found that there is never a task too small or a heart too big.
Thanks to Metro Animal Services, La Casita Center, Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS), Southwick Community Center, Bluegrass Center for Autism, and Kentucky Refugee Ministries for hosting us this year!
Day at the Capitol: Science Literacy Day
On February 6th, our team of board members, educators, and volunteers took to the capitol in Frankfort to speak with legislators about the importance of science for every stage of development. We also passed out Do Science bags to all 138 Kentucky Representatives and Senators. Thank you to everyone who came out and to the wonderful lawmakers we have who are ensuring Kentucky's scientific future!
Special thanks to Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton, Senator Paul Hornback, Representative Charles Booker, Senator Morgan McGarvey, Senator Gerald Neal, Representative Patti Minter, Representative Attica Scott, and Representative Mary Lou Marzian for meeting with us on Science Literacy Day!
Science with a Twist
On Saturday, February 2nd, we hosted our annual fundraising gala, Science with a Twist. This year's theme was the 80's, complete with a DeLorean, 80's costumes, activities (including giant Nintendo and Pac-Man controllers), decorations, food, and much more!

Thanks to everyone who attended this year's Science with a Twist. If you missed out this year, mark your calendar now so you can have fun and Do Science with us next year: February 1, 2020.
