First Arthrex apprentice chosen from Pickens County

Anderson County’s newest manufacturer has selected its first youth apprentice from the Pickens County Career and Technology Center program. The student will learn advanced machining skills at Arthrex’s new facility near Sandy Springs, between Pendleton and Anderson.

American Enterprise Group subsidiary Medico Insurance Co. has launched AARP Short-Term Care Insurance from Medico. AARP members in South Carolina are among the first of 17 states to have access to the new product.

Organizations partner on offender re-entry program

Greenville Technical College and the Phillis Wheatley Community Center are collaborating to create the Upstate Ex-Offender Re-entry Center. The center is designed to provide case management activities to remove barriers for people who are transitioning from the criminal justice system to productive lives in the community.
