Hello,

Thursday is when we round-up the best of our lifestyle and entertainment news for you.

We’ve taken a sneak peek at the new Hickory’s Smokehouse at Hutton - complete with a £30,000 smoker.

Our visit included taste testing the menu so the first review of the new eatery is in. Will you be booking a table?

Elsewhere, a Preston gym boss who was hit with multiple fines for breaking lockdown restrictions has closed his doors for the final time.

Steve Todd, of Reps Gym on Maitland Street, landed himself in court after refusing to shut his business in November 2020 in line with government restrictions designed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

And a Preston-born professional footballer who entered ITV2’s Love Island this year has left his current club.

Jamie Allen was playing for Halifax Town FC when he entered the famous villa, but it appears his journey with the club has ended not long after his Love Island journey did.

Thanks for reading,

Adam

I was really hoping to like Marriage (BBC1, Sun/Mon, 9pm), the new drama from Stefan Golaszewski, the creator of the wonderfully wistful Mum.
