First Loved, Now Loving

1 John 4:19 tells us that we love because God first loved us. In our new podcast, Adopting Hope, hosts Joyce Koo Dalrymple and Sasha Parker welcome moms (and the occasional dad!) to talk about how that truth shows up in adoptive, foster, and spiritual mothering.

On episode one, Jackie Green and Lauren McAfee of the Hobby Lobby family share how God has woven orphan care into their stories.

“Adoption is uniquely beautiful in the complexities that it brings for both incredible redemption as well as understanding of brokenness in the world,” Lauren says. “Adoption doesn’t happen without brokenness and loss, so as adoptive parents, we are called to walk in the tension of the beauty and tragedy adoption has to offer.”

Tune in for a hopeful discussion that grapples with that tension, shares stories of God’s faithfulness, and encourages us to consider what it looks like to love vulnerable children just as God has loved us.
