SCRA awards first private-school grant to Furman startup

Furman senior Trent Stubbs and chemistry professor Greg Springsteen were awarded the first S.C. Research Authority grant offered to a private school for the start-up of Aconabolics LLC. The duo founded Aconabolics two years ago.

SBA assists Upstate businesses impacted by storms

Businesses in Spartanburg, Greenville, Laurens and Union counties can now apply for Small Business Administration disaster assistance if affected by February's front of storms and tornadoes. 

South Carolinians may see federal payments by end of week

The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce says some unemployment payments from federal relief packages will begin being made by the end of this week. The first payments are expected to come from Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation funds.

Greenville County has purchased Axis Park in Greenville for $33.1 million, according to Tempus Realty Partners, an Arkansas-based real estate investment partnership. The office park is at 350 and 352 Halton Road. Greenville County has been working on the purchase since early in 2019, part of a $40 million plan to move county offices temporarily from County Square to make way for a redevelopment plan for that site. Axis Park was formerly part of Fluor's campus.
