First Solar needs local suppliers. Lots of them.

First Solar is looking for local and regional suppliers as its moves along in the construction of its $1.1 billion plant in Iberia Parish.

The Ohio-based solar panel manufacturer hopes to be operational by the first half of 2026 and will “need everything under the sun” to get to that point, said Mike Tarantino, president and CEO of the Iberia Industrial Development Foundation.
