The results will be announced in Thursday's edition of the WBJ Daily Report. | THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: | Last week, the state Department of Public Utilities banned more than 8,000 drivers from working for Uber, Lyft or other ride-hailing services after they failed background checks that looked for license suspensions, violent crimes or other offenses. Worcester and the Baker administration have also considered regulating Airbnb, with the governor saying he'd like to tax Airbnb the same as hotels. How should businesses like Uber and Airbnb be regulated? They should be regulated as much as established businesses like taxi cabs and hotels so there's a level playing field. Officials should let the industry further develop before passing regulations. As they are largely made up of individuals using their car or house to make extra revenue these businesses should not be regulated. This week's Flash Poll seeks your vote and opinion on this topic. Voice your opinion now! We appreciate all comments and opinions. To print any comments in the WBJ, we ask that you provide your first and last name, and prefer you also list the company you work for or the town where you work or reside.
