Florida League Playoff Schedule
The 2018 Florida League regular season wrapped up with some drama on Saturday. Heading into the day's games, all of which were scheduled doubleheaders, only three teams had clinched a playoff spot, and only two teams had their seed locked in. The Squeeze were caught outside the playoff bracket, their season finished. We now enter the final week of the 2018 season with the playoffs beginning tonight!
Player of the Week
Matthew Wiseman (San Jacinto) picked up four extra-base hits, including his first home run of the season, to help the Lightning secure the #1 seed in the final week of the season.
Pitcher of the Week
Shapiro turned in a fantastic effort against the Scorpions on Wednesday, allowing only one base runner in his complete game (mercy rule) shutout victory.
