Food insecurity is increasing across Minnesota
As inflation squeezes family budgets, organizations that work to address hunger are trying to manage increasing demand for food. Their budgets are also being pinched by more people needing help, and the rising cost of food.

"Families are really struggling right now. We've just gotten through the hungriest summer and fall in recent memory. And families are continuing to struggle. And I think the winter poses the same challenges," said Second Harvest Heartland CEO Allison O'Toole.
 
What else we're watching:
Two people are dead from a shooting near NDSU in Fargo. It happened around 3:20 Saturday morning just west of the Johnson Soccer Complex and two blocks south of the college campus . Officers found 28-year-old Jaquan Gatewood and 27-year-old Kierre Davies, both residents of Fargo, dead.

A male teen is dead after he was found shot in a vehicle on Interstate 94 in Brooklyn Park. The Minnesota State Patrol was alerted to the vehicle at I-94 and 53rd Avenue North around 8 p.m. Friday night.

DNR to expand list of prohibited species in Minnesota. Thirteen species or species groups have been identified as high risk. The species proposed to add to the prohibited list range from snakehead fish to jumping worms to mitten crabs. The agency is currently taking public comment on the proposal.

5 people were killed and 25 wounded in shooting at an LGBTQ club in Colorado Springs. Police received a phone call at about 11:57 p.m. local time to report a shooting at Club Q, Colorado Springs Police Department spokesperson Lt. Pamela Castro said in a news conference Sunday morning.

A collection of touching and sometimes prescient personal letters written by a young Bob Dylan to a high school girlfriend  has been sold at auction to a renowned Portuguese bookshop for nearly $670,000. Dylan, a native of Hibbing, Minnesota, wrote the letters to Barbara Ann Hewitt between 1957 and 1959 when he was still known as Bob Zimmerman.

Did the world make progress on climate change? Deep-seated tensions flared between richer countries that have prospered by burning fossil fuels, and developing ones, which are bearing the brunt of climate-driven disasters. But in a historic move, countries agreed to establish a fund to support poorer countries already hit hardest by the impacts. Here's what was decided at the COP27 global talks.

Despite Sunday’s disappointing 40 to 3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, at 8-2, the Minnesota Vikings are still off to their best start since the 2017 season. Excitement was certainly high among fans who flocked to downtown Minneapolis for the big match-up.
