Hello fellow traveller,
It’s Abi from Bradt and let's get started!
Yesterday was World Photo Day, which had me browsing back through the gorgeous photo archives on the Bradt site.
Gorgeous and thought provoking.
There's Ben Lateu-Smith's work with smoky, smouldering landscapes in the Lofoten Islands and Romania.
Stuart Butler, who takes us to the warriors and the worries of the Maasai in Kenya.
And Abby Livesley, who takes us to Napoleon's last stand in St Helena.
I love travel photography and I earn part of my living from it but there's always so much more to learn. Nori Jemil's The Travel Photographer's Way stands well thumbed on my bookcase, a guilty pleasure for it's melt-in-your-mouth images as well as being an educational tome.
And I know I need to sharpen my skills to be ready for the total solar eclipses which are soon coming our way. (We have a book to help with that, too, of course: Solar Eclipses by Sheridan Williams.)
So how about you? Do you enjoy taking photos? Or will just really taking a look at them do?
Cheers, Abi
