Nach dem Einmarsch Putins in die Ukraine, ist die Verzweiflung gross und das Vertrauen in diplomatische Gespräche verflogen. Was kann die Diplomatie in solch einem Konflikt noch bewirken oder besser gefragt, was hätte auf dem diplomatischen Parkett passieren müssen, dass ein solcher Konflikt vermieden hätte werden können? Ist die klassische Diplomatie die richtige Methode zur Vorbeugung zwischenstaatlicher Konflikte in unserer modernen Zeit? All diese Fragen und mehr können wir gemeinsam mit Herr Dr. Phil. Le foraus a désormais un blog sur le site du média romand Le Temps ! Le Diplofocus accueillera les contributions régulières de la communauté d’expert·e·s du foraus autour de thématiques actuelles de politique étrangère et internationale. Découvre dès maintenant le premier article du Diplofocus! Rédigé par Jan Lepeu, il aborde une question plus que d’actualité, celle des sanctions. Alors que les sanctions internationales sont devenues la principale réponse occidentale à l’invasion russe de l’Ukraine, le chercheur auprès du foraus et de l’Institut universitaire européen revient sur la question de l’utilité et l’efficacité des sanctions internationales. The future of the OSCE in an insecure and uncooperative world. After a short introduction to the work of the OSCE, they will kick-off the event with an input by two Ponto members, Jelena Jevtić, currently at OTH Regensburg working on Strategic Intelligence Analysis, and Raul Rios, who is working for the UN's Office of Counter-Terrorism in Budapest. Afterwards, there will be space to dive deeper into your own areas of interest in connection with security, multilateralism, and the raison d’être of international organisations. Two days of exchanging with experts on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and their risk factors, brainstorming sessions and capacity-building on the formulation of policy recommendations!
