It hasn't rained in Baton Rouge since before Southern and LSU played their first-ever football game. That was more than 30 days ago. Breaking the mini-drought shouldn't be too bad. Often, it takes a hurricane to stir things up.
A former student at Episcopal is suing her old school and a former teacher. The woman says the school knew that the teacher was grooming students for sexual relationships and did nothing about it. The school denies the allegations and says it will fight a lawsuit vigorously.
Capitol High will return to local control. After 14 years with the state running things, the historic school will again be the responsibility of the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. The board must still figure out how to improve facilities and then find someone to run classes. |
