Among marketers surveyed by HubSpot, 52% say they will increase their Instagram budget this year, with 29% saying Instagram will be their top platform, while 53% are spending more on TikTok and 43% will boost Facebook spending. Tumblr and Twitch are losing steam among marketers and 25% say Instagram offers the best return on investment.

Report: Mobile AR advertising poised for big growth

Insider Intelligence predicts marketers will increase their mobile advertising from $194.79 billion this year to $235.67 billion in 2025 to reach the growing number of QR code scanners and augmented reality adopters. Insider Intelligence attributes much of the growth to AR efforts launched via QR codes with out-of-home ads and social media marketers striving to reach the more than 60 million US consumers using AR via social platforms.

Signs that high inflation may be easing have pushed the International Monetary Fund to upgrade its global growth projection for 2023 to 2.9%, compared with a 2.7% forecast in October. The IMF also cited the reopening of China's economy from coronavirus restrictions as a positive factor for growth.
