Former ITT Tech students to receive share of settlement

Around 1,000 former students in S.C. will receive a share of $8.6 million secured by the state in a national $330 million settlement with a private lender. The settlement will cancel the debt of 35,000 borrowers nationwide.

DMA Holdings expanding Marion County operations

The auto parts manufacturer and distributor is opening a $3.9 million, 377,000-square-foot facility in Nichols, its second Marion County location. Operations are expected to be online in October, creating 25 jobs.

Largest ship ever to visit East Coast on way to S.C. 

A 1,200-foot containership, the largest ever to call on Charleston, is anticipated to arrive at the Wando Welch Terminal on Sunday. The ship is roughly the size of eight Statues of Liberty stacked crown to toe.

S.C. unemployment insurance payments top $4 billion

In the past 26 weeks, 739,643 initial claims have been filed, according to the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce. For the week ending Sept. 12, 4,283 claims were filed, down 830 from the previous week.
