BY DOUG GRAHAM | Staff writer Kayshon Boutte, a former wide receiver at LSU, has been accused of placing thousands of illegal sports bets while still playing for the Tigers, and is facing a felony count of computer fraud and a misdemeanor count of gaming prohibited by persons under 21. Seventeen of the 8,927 wagers were on college football games. Six involved LSU, including two Boutte made on himself. Also: What punishment could Boutte face for sports betting, computer fraud? The newest version of the Livingston Parish Council has expressed a unified front when it comes to resisting the influence of developers. The group put that into action Thursday night as it extended a sweeping building moratorium for 12 months. The original 160-day moratorium passed in late August 2023. A new exhibit will debut Saturday at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum in Baton Rouge. "The Seed" has a focus on STEAM — science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. The exhibit features an interactive periodic table, microscopes and more. |
