The Army and the Army Reserves will reach their goal of 62,500 recruits by the end of the month, which is the end of the fiscal year, officials said. Army recruitment commander Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Snow praised the work of the service branch's 9,000 recruiters in meeting that target.

Lamar Dawson, former linebacker at the University of Southern California, has filed suit against the NCAA and Pac-12, contending that not paying Division I football players minimum wage or overtime violates the Fair Labor Standards Act and California law. Both organizations dispute the complaint, saying that student-athletes are not employees and therefore not eligible to receive wages.
