Thursday is when we round up the best of our lifestyle news for you. 

A former X Factor contestant and small business owner from Preston is set to appear in a new dating show with a quirky premise.

Charlotte Lily, 24, will be a contestant on Beauty and the Geek, which will begin streaming on Discovery+ on Sunday. 

The former Lostock Hall Academy and Preston College pupil first appeared on our screens back in 2018 when she auditioned for ITV’s The X Factor, making it to the six-chair challenge.

In terms of events, we look back at the thrills and spills as Longridge was taken over by a Soap Box Derby and also have the best of the pictures of Preston’s Torchlight Procession, part of the Lancashire Encounter Festival. 

And in food and drink, we’ve taken a look at some of the top places to grab a cup of coffee in Preston, and those eateries with exemplary food hygiene. 

That unfortunately isn't the case when it comes to the pie shop owned by TV's Radford family, stars of 22 Kids and Counting.
