Ofra Bengio, a professor at Tel Aviv University and a lecturer at Shalem College, heads the Dayan Center’s Kurdish studies program. She has translated many literary works from Arabic and Turkish into Hebrew. Ms Bengio received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D from Tel Aviv University. She is the author of four books on the Kurds and Kurdistan the latest of which is Kurdistan’s Moment in the Middle East (Dayan Center, 2018)

Ali Alfoneh, a senior fellow at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, is known for the argument that Iran’s Islamic Republic will transform into a military dictatorship, an idea he elaborated in Iran Unveiled (AEI Press, 2013) and in Political Succession in the Islamic Republic of Iran (AGSIW, 2020). Mr. Alfoneh holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Copenhagen.
