European artisan breads can be long, complicated affairs. This one isn't.

You can mix the dough in your bread machine (or stand-type mixer). Then make two very easy, rustic loaves and bake them in the oven.

You can bake your bread in a loaf pan or make crusty dinner or sandwich rolls. And it'll have the taste of a true country Italian bread.

How is that possible? Instead of using a sourdough starter, we used a dry preferment (starter) right in the mix. All you add is the water. And a littletender care.
With a touch of cinnamon and vanilla, it tastes like peach cobbler!
