Foxtel sold in $3.4bn mega deal; Super Retail wins first case against whistleblower

UK sports streaming heavyweight DAZN will become the new owner of TV major Foxtel in a blockbuster $3.4bn deal set to shake up Australia’s media and sport landscape.

Whistleblower Rebecca Farrell has had her case against her former employer Super Retail Group dismissed by Justice Michael Lee in the Federal Court, meaning her attempt to force the retailer to meet the provisions of an alleged settlement offer has failed.

A lawsuit alleges Johnson & Johnson put ‘profit before people’ by marketing cold and flu tablets containing a drug that is allegedly ineffective at relieving congestion when taken orally.
