Good morning. According to the “2024 Digital Payments in Class Actions and Mass Torts” report by Western Alliance Bank and its subsidiary Digital Disbursements, fraudulent class action and mass tort claims are rampant, and digital payments are fast becoming the common means of claim disbursement. In fact, the number of claims evidencing fraud increased approximately 19,000% (you read that right) between 2021 and 2023. In today's featured article, LTN's Rhys Dipshan takes a closer look at the astronomical increases in fraud, as well as the role digital payments might be playing,
