Cavs with an international flair: With about one month before training camp, a trio of Cavaliers will stay busy by playing for their home countries in 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers this month, a source told cleveland.com's Joe Vardon. "In Tristan Thompson's case, the Canadians are playing the Americas qualifier Sept. 13-17, while Cedi Osman's Turkish team and Ante Zizic's Croatian team will compete in the European tournament over the same dates." Read more. If it's in the game ... The ratings for the starting lineups on NBA 2K19, which arrives on Sept. 11, are out and the Cavs are one of the worst teams, writes cleveland.com's Troy L. Smith. Kevin Love is the only player with a rating above an 80. Love has a rating of 86, while rookie Collin Sexton and Tristan Thompson are next in line with a 76. J.R. Smith and Cedi Osman round out the projected starting five with a rating of 75. Read more. LeBron not only one heading to LA: Sideline reporter Allie Clifton, who has been with Fox Sports Ohio for the last six years, has left the network for a new position as the studio host for Lakers games on the team's cable home, Spectrum SportsNet. Read more. Kevin Love's battle: On Nov. 5, Love had a panic attack, causing him to exit the Cavaliers' game. Since that time, Love has opened up about his battle with anxiety. On Monday, he took that a step further in a sitdown with Carson Daly on NBC's The Today Show. Vardon has the latest. "I thought I was having a heart attack," Love continued. "I was running around looking for something that I couldn't find. I just wanted to get air. And so I ended up basically unconscious on the floor and putting my hand down my throat and trying to get something out of there, but there was nothing there." Read more. LeBron, Lakers clearing space for next year: The Los Angeles Lakers and Luol Deng reached an agreement for a buyout under the waive and stretch provision, according to The Los Angeles Times. Deng agreed to sacrifice $7.5 million of the remaining $36.8 million on his contract. He will count for $14.3 million against the Lakers’ salary cap this season, then $5 million for the next three seasons. Read more.
