Where Champions Play!
They May Have Postponed The Masters, But They Can't Postpone Spring! We feel Corona is getting a bad rap right now. Although we are not trying to make light of the situation, we do want you to enjoy a sport that is built for social distancing and not be tied to your home. If you do not want a Corona, feel free to get another beverage of your choice.
We are here for you during this unprecedented time!
Why Golf Is The Ultimate Sport Right Now
Suggestions and Best Practices on How to Stay Safe
The golf course and Champions Grille are both open with normal operating hours and we plan to remain open with no changes to our operating hours unless told to do so.
Adjusted Processes
1. With the Governor enacting all restaurants to no longer (for the time being) serve sit-down meals, Champions Grille is staying open for take-out service and we are adding delivery service. If you live in the Wildwood Green subdivision or are on the golf course, please call Champions Grille at 919-390-0347 to place your order directly with the grille. Our grille hours are 8:30 AM through 5:30 PM.
We will deliver to the golf course and subdivision of Wildwood Green but ask that you call in your order one hour prior to needing the food and we ask that you order off our limited menu. These menus can be found in the golf carts, on the golf shop counter, and on Champions Grille counter. For all delivery orders we will take payment by credit card over the phone.
Please note that we have pulled chairs and tables together in the grille and on the back patio to deter people from sitting and eating, as well as mingling, before or after play. If you come inside the golf shop to check in, you can still order your food at the grille counter.
In the grille we have pulled all self-serve items off the counter to limit touching and contamination of shared items. Please ask a staff member if you need to get any snacks or coffee creamers/sugar and we will be happy to assist you.
We have unplugged the self-serve ice-water machine in Champions Grille and we are asking that you get a fresh cup from us (from behind the counter) to fill your water bottles with ice-water.
2. As of today, March 18th, we have pulled all rakes, water coolers, and practice green flagsticks and targets off the course and practice greens to limit high-touch items.
For the flagsticks on the golf course, we ask that you leave those in while putting to avoid touching of shared items. We also ask that you smooth the sand after hitting your shot from the bunker as best you can with your foot and club. While the rakes are removed, maintenance will be hand raking fairway bunkers each morning as much as possible as we already hand-rake greenside bunkers.
When you want to check in, you no longer need to come into the clubhouse however, YOU MUST STILL CHECK IN! Simply call the golf shop at 919-846-8376 extension 2 and you can check in over the phone. We will radio the starter to let him know to expect you.
3. We are adjusting our last bucket sold time to 7:00 PM for the remainder of March. You will still need to come into the golf shop for range balls.
4. Today we began propping secondary doors open so that we can minimize touching of high-traffic and high-touch areas. This includes the foyer door and locker room doors. If you need some privacy in the locker rooms, please feel free to shut the secondary door and the staff will reopen it after you leave the locker room.
Reminders of What We Have Already Implemented
1. We are sanitizing high-touch items with bleach each hour. High-touch items include doors and door handles, bathroom faucets, bathroom handrails, toilet handles, door knobs and locks, counter-tops, phones, and computer mice and keyboards.
2. We are continuing to sanitize with bleach the cart handles (on your side and overhead), the cart steering wheels, and sand bottles on each cart after use.
3. The staff is continuously washing their hands and using hand sanitizer throughout their shift.
4. We have lifted the cart riding restrictions through April 5th. This means that you can walk at anytime.
5. We have 2 Fat Tire Golf Scooters that you can rent for a normal cart fee. These carts are single-rider vehicles that help you keep your distance from your playing partners. Please call the golf shop at 919-846-8376 extension 2 to reserve the Fat Tire Golf Scooter.
Ways That You Can Help Flatten The Curve
1. If you feel sick, STAY HOME! We have asked all staff to do this here at the club.
2. Wash your hands throughout the day and sanitize regularly.
3. Keep six feet of distance between you and others.
4. During your round please use personal towels to wash your golf ball rather than the ball washing stations.
5. Refrain from shaking hands at the 1st tee or after your round. Tip your cap or elbow bump to avoid transfer of germs.
6. Dispose of the trash in your cart before returning it to the cart return area. This will help minimize items that our staff needs to touch before turning or taking the cart down to store for the evening.
7. Avoid touching your face, mouth, and eyes and use gloves whenever possible.
