"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." โ€” Albert Camus

Hello John,

We're celebrating fall with an open-ended landscape collage this week, and your art plan for the weekend is now answered!. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŽƒ

In this project, your child will practice cutting skiills (if they're ready), create their own patterned paper, arrange a paper composition, paint with glue to collage with the papers, and paint.

This activity starts with foraging for fall-colored papers in browns, reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. I love this step! It's so fun to hunt around like an art detective. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธLook for wrapping paper, tissue papers, magazine images, construction paper, origami paper, and even old artwork that's landed in the recycling pile.

If you'd like to add papers with interesting patterns, I'll share a couple ideas on how to make your own patterned paper. โคต๏ธ

Experimentation and original ideas are encouraged in these parts, so while I'll show you how I made this pumpkin patch collage, your little maker can think like an artist and take this in their own unique direction. Instead of a pumpkin patch, they could make a flower garden, and rather than painting a night sky, they could paint a bright and sunny day.
