The Summer Reading Kick-Off Pool Party scheduled for Friday (tonight) has been canceled due to inclement weather. We will try to get it rescheduled, but at this time there is no date. Please keep your tickets for the Friday pool party, and we'll try to reschedule or offer an alternative to those who had hoped to attend tonight's party. We hope to see you at all the other great Summer Reading events this summer!

Our summer storytime sessions start June 17 and run through July 19. Registration is open!

Book Babies (ages 0-24 months)
Tuesdays at 11am OR Wednesdays at 9:30am OR Fridays at 4:30pm

Parents & Tots (ages 2-3)
Mondays at 10am OR Tuesdays at 5:30pm

Preschool Storytime (ages 4-5)

Hands-on Workshops for Tweens: Astronaut Fuel
Monday, June 17, at 4:30pm
What do astronauts eat in space? Tweens in grades 3-5, learn how to make some out-of-this-world cosmic creations. 

Sun-Sational Superstar
Wednesday, June 19, at 4:30pm
Kids in grades 1-2, put on your sunglasses and discover what makes the sun such a magnificent and important star. 
 
Throwback Thursday: 1990s
Thursday, June 20, at 4:30pm
Tweens and teens in grades 3-12, experience the 1990s with crafts, snacks, and Mario Kart!

Stars at the Farm
Friday, June 14, at 7pm-9pm
Experience a night at Kentucky State University's farm that includes star activities, a solar system created by the Franklin County Farmers Market, and a movie marathon. All ages are welcome, and registration is not required.  Location: Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm
Spin Like an Astronaut
Saturday, June 15, at 11am-3pm
Test your mettle in Newton's Attic's SPINtron based on a NASA model, along with astronaut activities. Drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm to participate. 

Wednesdays at the Park: Rocket Science
Wednesday, June 19, at 10:30am
Families with kids in preschool-5th grade, join us at the park for some amazing launches! Registration is not required. 
Cosmic Cookies
Thursday, June 20, at 6:30pm
Celebrate all things space by decorating your own star-shaped sugar cookies! Families with kids of all ages are welcome. Registration is not required.

Ice Skate at the Library: An Out-of-This World Experience!
