Hi John,
It's almost May in California, which means we have a new TinkerSketch art challenge for you to experiment and play with. ๐
Each month for almost as long as I can remember, I've been creating word-of-the-day art challenges for our community. The basic idea is this: each day you'll get word, and you'll then create anything you like in a sketchbook, art journal, post-it note, gum wrapper, or really anything. We don't limit ourselves in these parts!
A few details:
You can take as little as 5 minutes a day (so easy if you're like me and time feels limited). It's an easy way to build a creative habit. There's no pressure to achieve any level of perfection. In fact, mistakes and imperfections are most welcome. If you have other family members who are game to play, it's a fun way to spend time together. This month I created something extra for our newsletter friends: a fun and fancy Mini Sketchbook plus guide that includes a list of my favorite sketchbook tools, printable to make your own mini sketchbook (all the daily words are already printed on it - see below), and reflection sheets.
The free guide includes:
Tips on how to get started. A list of my favorite sketchbook tools. A mini sketchbook that you can print, with all the daily prompts added right to the mini pages. Reflection pages that you can do with your child or on your own.Once you print it, fold it, and glue the sections together, you can make a personalized cover from a piece of art you've saved, and then it's ready to go!

I'm dreaming up more art journaling and sketchbook projects and would be delighted to hear from you if you enjoy this guide.
That's it for now. Wishing you a joyful weekend.
Your creative collaborator,
Rachelle
