We're 100% committed to fighting for free speech
freepress.net

Friend,

Earlier this week, we launched a petition calling on Facebook to remove Alex Jones, the racist, homophobic and xenophobic conspiracy theorist who runs InfoWars and uses his platform to incite violence. Our petition has already gained thousands of signatures, but we’ve also been flooded with reactions from detractors and racist trolls.

Here’s what we have to say about that:

Free Press is 100% committed to fighting for free speech. But speech that incites violence against a group of people is not free speech — it’s hate speech.

Alex Jones dabbles in more than hateful invective. He uses his platform to inspire violence against communities and groups that he deems unworthy. Kicking Jones off Facebook is the right thing to do. Tell Facebook to remove his new pages.

If you’d like to learn more about the petition and our stance on free speech, read our full statement linked in the P.S.

Thanks for all that you do—

The Free Press Team

P.S. The bottom line: Free Press is 100% committed to fighting for free speech — but we want freedom of speech for all. To learn more, look here.
