Were pleased to invite you to join us on Wednesday 15 May at 10:30am for this informative webinar presented by HSE experts. Asbestos is the greatest cause of work-related deaths in Great Britain. Around 5,000 people die every year from asbestos-related diseases which typically take decades to develop and cannot be cured. Asbestos was used in many industries and buildings until it was banned in 1999 so much of this material is still in place. This means people who work in older buildings could still be exposed to asbestos fibres today if asbestos is not managed effectively, and is damaged or disturbed. This session will take you through the process of carrying out an effective asbestos risk assessment and guide you on how to complete an asbestos management plan. The webinar aligns with the HSE Asbestos: Duty to manage campaign which supports organisations in identifying dutyholders and implementing effective strategies to mitigate asbestos-related risks. HSE offers comprehensive guidance, resources and the popular Asbestos Management in Buildings training course to support you in complying with your legal duty. In this webinar, Martin Saunders, course leader and Senior Scientist in the Fibres and Minerals Team at HSE and Chris Austin, Head of HSE Training and Events, will share snippets from this training course and answer your questions. |
