Then in the US, UK and now Spain, you have that option with a service fast gaining ubiquitous popularity called FreedomPop. How soon if ever for Australia? Google’s MVNO, ‘Project Fi’ is Google’s attempt at providing global connectivity services to subscribers, and by adding Three UK says it will be able to deliver 10-20X faster speeds. Project Fi provides wireless phone and data services using Wi-Fi and cellular networks belonging to Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Three UK, as well as about 1 million free hot spots. While Google does cop a lot of flack from many quarters about some of its practices, it also happens to be Australia’s most popular brand, many places ahead of Apple. Global polling and research firm YouGov added Australia to its lists in mid 2015, tracking over 250 brands, and has all the stats on brands with buzz. OTT video has grown in popularity across the globe, with Europe no different, seeing changed video consumption habits and new investment opportunities for EU telcos.
