BARTENDER SLAIN: Sunday morning began with news that someone inside a French Quarter business was killed by a stray bullet fired out on Bourbon Street. Now we know the victim was a bartender working at Cat's Meow, struck in the chest by a bullet fired into the crowd outside that passed through a shutter, killing him where he stood.
SUPER SUNDAY: After two years off, the Mardi Gras Indians are back for Super Sunday. Don't miss our dispatch from the parade, and we've got a photo gallery too.
FLYING HIGH AGAIN: The New Orleans Air Show was back in Belle Chasse after five years off. We caught up with the folks happy to be back for the spectacle.
ENVIRONMENTAL ROUND UP: We've got two dispatches from our environmental team. Mark Schleifstein reports that the state has won a battle over how to offset environmental damage to the River Parishes caused by the construction of the $1.2 billion West Shore Lake Pontchartrain levee. Meanwhile, Roshaun Higgins reports that Jean Lafitte National Park and Preserve will use $29 million in emergency grants to rebuild three trails at the Barataria preserve that were destroyed by Hurricane Ida, as well as some other needed repairs.
