Food Lion buys 62 BI-LO and Harveys Supermarket stores

Deepening its food network in the Southeast, Food Lion has acquired 62 grocery stores, including 38 in South Carolina. The company plans to fill nearly 5,000 jobs. Food Lion is a U.S. brand for Ahold Delhaize, a food retailer based in the Netherlands.
