| Hey traders! It's Michael here with the Stock Dork Cheat Sheet: Premarket Report, your go-to guide for the day's biggest trading news and hottest premarket stocks! Happy Friday! It's November 10th. I hope you have a great day. Now, let's get ready to trade! |
Stocks turned south on Thursday after several days of lackluster performance. The Nasdaq was the leading large-cap loser with a 0.9% decline, followed by the S&P 500's 0.8% loss, and the Dow's 0.6% decline. The small-cap Russell 2K continued to underperform and sold off for 1.5%. Today, futures are edging higher in early premarket trading. S&P 500 contracts are up by about 0.2%. 🇨🇳 Chinese EV Star Prepares for Blockbuster U.S. IPOWhile the market for Chinese IPOs globally might be taking a breather, Zeekr, Geely Automobile's electric-vehicle prodigy, is buckling up for a U.S. market debut. Filing the Future: Zeekr threw its name into the Wall Street hat with an official IPO filing. The game plan? A listing by the end of the year, with initial aspirations to raise about $1 billion, though the current forecast suggests a figure just shy of that. Deal Dynamics: Market moods are still the boss, so Zeekr's debut size and timeline could shift gears. They're cruising into a market already revved up by Chinese EV players like NIO [NIO] and XPeng [XPEV]. Banking on a Boost: For the U.S. banks steering this IPO, Zeekr's listing could be a much-needed fuel injection. With only three $1-billion-plus IPOs in the U.S. this year and Chinese international transaction fees hitting a decade low, the stakes are high. Zeekr's potential U.S. listing isn't just a milestone for the company; it's a signal of continuing global interest in the EV market, despite the broader slowdown in Chinese overseas listings. Keep your eyes on the road; this IPO could be an interesting ride. |
Assurant [AIZ] - Last Close: $161.23 Assurant is getting a boost after a recent announcement. Yesterday, the insurance company raised its dividend and announced the authorizations of a sweeping $600 million share buyback program. Assurant's board of directors raised the quarterly dividend to $0.72 from $0.70 previously, an increase of roughly 3%. AIZ is leading the S&P 500 with a 3.0% gain. My Take: AIZ's share buyback could provide some extra price support for the stock, but it appears to be facing some stiff resistance around $161 as well. There could more downside risk than upside potential here. Avita Medical [RCEL] - Last Close: $9.88 A recent business update is rallying shares of Avita Medical. The tiny company reported its Q3 earnings late Thursday and announced a new partnership that could be a new growth engine for the company.
Avita reported stronger-than-expected revenues, but its operating loss widened from last year. However, Avita's new distribution deal with Polymedics could be the real reason for today's rally. Under the deal, Polymedics will become the exclusive distributor of Recell in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, which could help Avita expand into Europe. RCEL is one of today's top premarket stocks with a 16.7% gain. My Take: RCEL is down more than 50% from its 52-week high, so this stock could have excellent upside potential if it can get its groove back. Direct Digital [DRCT] - Last Close: $2.61 Direct Digital is climbing after a strong earnings report. The ad platform reported Q4 earnings and revenues that surpassed consensus estimates, and the market is cheering the results. Direct Digital's $0.23 EPS figure crushed the Street's $0.05 target by a margin of more than 300%. Sales of $54.97 million also easily topped the consensus revenue estimate of $34.49 million. DRCT is up 37.9% in the wake of the strong quarterly report. My Take: DRCT has been very volatile lately, but its Q3 went way better than anyone expected. This stock could be on the comeback path. TRACON Pharma [TCON] - Last Close: $0.16 TRACON Pharma is skyrocketing after posting an unexpected profit. The tiny biotech stock released its Q3 results after Thursday's closing bell, and the company's bottom-line earnings figure blew away the consensus target. TRACON reported a surprise Q3 profit of $0.29 per share after reporting a $(0.30) per share loss a year ago. The company is pre-revenue, so there are no sales figures worth noting. TCON is leading the premarket with a 106.2% gain, and it's this morning's most actively-traded stock. My Take: TCON's big rally is likely a flash in the pan, but there could be more opportunities in this stock if volatility starts to spike. Gainers - Marpai [MRAI] >> +98.2%
