Get a taste of Bavaria in the Big Smoke at London Oktoberfest

Like beer/sausages/knee-slappingly catchy oompah tunes? Then you'll liebe London Oktoberfest — a huge, Bavarian-style blowout, popping up in two London locations next month. And when we say huge, we mean huge: since its inaugural edition in 2011, London Oktoberfest has grown to welcome a whopping 10,000 revellers each year.

Head to St Paul's Green in Hammersmith, 17-19 October, or Ealing's Walpole Park, 25-26 October and step inside a giant tent filled with Bierkeller-style tables and decorated in the colours of the Bavarian flag. Here, dirndl and lederhosen-wearing waitstaff serve up gloriously frothy steins of beer —  created especially for Oktoberfest in a small brewery outside of Nuremberg — while you enjoy live music and decide whether you want to line your stomach with brezel, bratwurst, or schnitzel (the correct choice is all three!)

Tickets to London Oktoberfest start at £10, with optional add-ons for reserved seating and pre-booked refreshments. Planning a work party? Corporate packages are also available, and there's even a dress-up option, if you really fancy immersing yourself in the Bavarianness of it all. Hit the blue button to choose your tickets and get booking.

Clueless But Make It A Musical

There's A New Sake In Town
The Aubrey knows a thing or two about sake, with a long and alluring list of imports fuelling their Japanese restaurant and late-night izakaya. And now they've added one of their own to the roster, brewed in collaboration with Gunma Prefecture's Tsuchida Sake Brewery. Pair it with The Aubrey's robata dishes for the full Kawaba-via-Knightsbridge experience.

A Birthday Feast On Brick Lane
One of our favourite Georgian restaurants just announced their birthday party... Brick Lane's Aba-Ra! is turning a year old, and you can join them on 17 September for a 6-course menu with 6 matching Georgian wines. This place feels like a party even on a normal night, so we can only imagine how festive their actual birthday's going to be.

1746 London In Technicolour
Love history? Love intricate maps of 18th century London, published now for the first time ever in colour? Then you're in luck: that's exactly what we've got for you. This panel of the John Rocque map covers London Bridge, Bermondsey and more - and if we say so ourselves, it's glorious.

Slow Horses: The Novels
Obsessed with the new season of Slow Horses? Yeah, us too. If you're getting as impatient as us, having to wait a week between episodes, we recommend going back to where it all began. Mick Herron's Slough House novels are adrenaline-spiking spy thrillers with London's streets and landmarks at the heart of all the action.
