When Dawn Meza Soufleris arrived at college in the 1980s, she was on her own.

As a first-generation student, her parents had little advice to offer, and her university didn’t provide any personalized academic advising.

Today, Dawn is a vice president at Montclair State University. She spends her days ensuring that no first-generation student on her campus ever feels alone like she did.
