Evening Workshop: Beyond the Mainstream: Self-Taught Artists and the Role of Creativity
March 15, 2017 (4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.) Presented with the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts
Spend the evening with curators, conservators, musicians and fellow educators as you nurture your own creativity and expand your classroom toolkit.
Look beyond the mainstream art world where selected artists' voices help shape our understanding of American culture. Engage with curators and conservators to explore the work of self-taught artists whose work acts as a lasting record of the struggles and achievements of a broader public and a testament to the power of creativity.
A note on our upcoming FREE performance of Cave of the Heart: a retelling of the Medea myth for students...
