Absent-minded: Monk returns from self-imposed exile to 2020 madness If you’re online, you’re plugged into the news no matter where you go. This is especially true during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has touched the lives of almost every citizen on earth. But one man, a practicing Buddhist monk from Vermont, was fortunate enough to miss the worst of 2020’s news when he took a retreat with several other monks into a remote mountain region.
