Funding Secured to Promote Food and Drink Along the Fife Coastal Path

£18,000 of funding has been secured to promote food and drink along the Fife Coastal Path as part of VisitScotland’s Destination & Sector Marketing Fund.

The project, which is being managed by regional food group, Food from Fife, focuses on promoting the popular path through digital marketing and targeted social media campaigns.

The project is run with the support of Fife’s six local tourist associations, Fife Coast & Countryside Trust and Fife Council’s tourism team.

Scotland Loves Local Success Stories

Over 100 organisations have received a £1.5 million funding boost to help revitalise cities, town centres and neighbourhoods across Scotland.  The first round of grants from the Scotland Loves Local (SLL) Fund are worth £14,000 on average and are being distributed to businesses and development organisations.

The Fund will include help for restoring local tourism, making town centres more environmentally friendly and sustainable, and supporting communities to refurbish shop fronts and public spaces ahead of the festive season.

Buy Social Scotland Launches Christmas Gift Guide

Buy Social Scotland is is part of a national campaign that aims to make it easier to find great local and ethical gifts from social enterprises across Scotland.

The new Buy Social Scotland 2021 Christmas Gift Guide, features 160 presents with a purpose from social enterprises across Scotland organised in gift collections including for foodies, adventurers, beauty-lovers, creatives, children and more.

It also includes stocking fillers, Christmas hampers and gift cards and vouchers.

Negative Test Becomes Part Of Certification Scheme

People attending venues covered by Scotland's COVID certification scheme are to be given the option of providing a recent negative lateral flow test for the virus, as an alternative to proof of vaccination.

It means that individuals who received a vaccine not recognised by the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency), or have experienced difficulty accessing their vaccination record, will be able to attend venues covered by the scheme.

Business Ventilation Fund Now Open

The Scottish Government’s Business Ventilation Fund aims to help businesses improve ventilation and air quality on their premises to help reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.

The fund will allow businesses to claim back costs to improve ventilation of up to £2,500.

Kickstart Scheme To Close on 17th December.

Employers can apply until 17th December 2021 for funding to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.

The funding covers 100 per cent of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of six months.

Border Operating Model Guidance Published

The updated Border Operating Model has been published to explain how the border works with the European Union.

The documents reflect the revised timetable for the introduction of UK border import controls, including additional phasing in SPS controls.
