Furlough Scheme Has Now Ended
Submit Your Final Claim By 14th October

The furlough scheme has been an invaluable support tool for many small businesses over the last few months, however, the scheme ended on 30th September.

Claims for September must be submitted on or before 14th October 2021 and any amendments must be made on or before 28th October 2021.

The Great Taste Awards 2021 have been announced, and no fewer than 12 Fife companies have been recognised.

 The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. Expert judges, including top chefs, buyers and food writers, make up the panel, which blind-tasted thousands of food and drink products in a rigorous judging process.

Dillydream, A Unique New Clothing Brand Is Launched


Mother and daughter partnership, Liz and Megan Laing from Dunfermline in Fife have created a dream brand of sustainable fashion clothing that is hitting the mark with a wide range of customers. 

A bespoke 'cute fashion' digitally printed fabric is used to create the initial capsule collection of products for the online store, including dungarees, wide trousers, sweatshirt and t-shirts

Kickstart Scheme for Employers

Employers of all sizes can apply for funding until 17th December 2021 to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.

The funding covers 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of six months

Days Out Incentive Fund For Tourism Businesses

The £4 million Days Out Incentive Fund is intended to support the recovery of tourism businesses following the pandemic and to encourage visitation to visitor attractions and experiences across Scotland, in the off-season.

The Fund allows successful applicants to participate in a consumer-facing promotion, to stimulate demand and usage of Scotland’s visitor attractions, day tour excursions and activities over the off-season.

Guidance on Fair Work First Criteria

The Scottish Government has published guidance on its Fair Work First criteria to encourage and support employers to adopt fair work practices within their organisation.

The guidance provides direction on how the Fair Work First criteria can be implemented and how it should be used by those involved in awarding public sector grants, sponsorship and other funding and contracts.

Feragaia Now Available On Three Continents

Feragaia, Scotland’s first distilled alcohol-free spirit made from land and sea botanicals, has started exporting to Canada and Australia, having signed supply deals with importers in each country.
 
News of these export deals comes at a welcome time for the business, which is exploring additional export streams, and to bring production in-house to a new facility in Fife. This, it is hoped, will be in place in the next 12 months.
