The Victorian Government will ease COVID-19 restrictions this Friday 26 March at 6pm. 

Key Changes: 

  • Masks are no longer required in retail settings
  • There will be no cap on the amount of staff in the workplace, providing the 1 person per 2sqm requirement can be met.
  • Up to 100 people will be allowed in your home per day and 200 for outdoor gatherings in public places.
  • Density limits in venues will be 1 person per 2sqm.
  • No limits on class sizes for outdoor and indoor physical recreation or fitness classes. Unstaffed gyms will have a density limit of 1 person per 4sqm.

From this Friday (26 March 2021), businesses using electronic record-keeping must only use QR Code providers who are connected to the State Government's Application Programming interface or API. 

If you are already using the free Victorian Government QR Code Service for your record-keeping, you do not need to do anything.

Commercial Landlord Hardship Fund - Round 2

Grants of up to $3,000 are available to small commercial landlords providing rent relief for tenants under the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme. 

Applications close this week, 28 March 2021 or until funds are exhausted.

Get out and Enjoy Local to support your business

Council is delivering 61 events in 30 different key locations across Brimbank to help local business stimulate trade.

The entertainment events include a range of free musical performances and children’s activities designed to draw customers into Brimbank’s activity centres and extend their stay.

The Program is being delivered by the place managers in Council’s City Strategy department as part of the Brimbank COVID-19 Response and Recovery Strategy.

So far events like the one pictured above have been held in St Albans Town Centre, Deer Park Village Shopping Centre and Albion.

Make sure you’re adhering to the current COVID-19 restrictions

  • All businesses must have an active, up-to-date COVIDSafe Plan.
  • Keep accurate records and ensure your staff and visitors register their details for contact tracing.
  • All businesses must record contact details for anyone on their premises for 15 minutes or more, including staff, customers and suppliers.
  • Electronic record keeping is required for many venues to access the higher density limit of 1 person per 2sqm. The Victorian Government QR Code Service is easy to use and free.
  • Download and display signage to remind people of the need to check in, and other safety measures.
  • If you or your workers have even mild COVID-19 symptoms, please get tested.
  • Visit  coronavirus.vic.gov.au for more information or call Business Victoria on 13 22 15. If you need an interpreter, call the coronavirus (COVID-19) hotline 1800 675 398 and press 0.
