PVH Corp [PVH] - Last Close: $73.62 An upbeat earnings report is boosting shares of PVH Corp. The apparel company reported fiscal Q4 earnings and revenues that beat analysts' consensus estimates. PVH reported adjusted earnings of $2.38 per diluted share for the quarter, down from $2.84 a year earlier, but enough to beat the consensus of $1.67 per share. Revenues came in at $2.49 billion, marking an increase from last year's $2.43 billion figure and beating analysts' $2.43 billion estimate. News of the strong quarter catapulted PVH to the top of the S&P 500 in today's premarket with an 11.8% gain. My Take: Nice quarter for the apparel company. The stock is currently in a long-term down trend, but today's quarterly report could help it pivot into a new, positive trend. With a P/E of only 11.68, PVH could be worth watching. Viking Therapeutics [VKTX] - Last Close: $9.12 Viking Therapeutics is rebounding after a recent pullback. The San Diego biotech has had a rough run this week, but its shares are bouncing back today. Last Friday, Ford Equity Research upgraded the stock from "4" to "3," but Refinitiv Verus downgraded VKTX from "buy" to "hold" on Monday. The stock opened last week at $11.69 per share, but it closed the week at $8.85. Plus, the stock has an elevated short rate of 1.6%. Today, shares of VKTX are rebounding despite no discernible news. It's one of today's top premarket performers with a 42.3% gain on active volume. My Take: Not sure what to make of this, but it appears VKTX's recent sell off was overdone and the bulls are capitalizing. This move could also have some short squeeze elements behind it. Oscar Health [OSCR] - Last Close: $3.59 Oscar Health just landed a legendary executive for the top executive spot. The health insurer has tapped former Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini to take the chief executive officer position at the company. Most recently, Bertolini served as the co-chief executive of Ray Dalio's hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates. The 66-year old executive will succeed Mario Schlosser, who co-founded Oscar in 2012 with Joshua Kushner. Schlosser will take a new title, "president of technology," and he will report to Mr. Bertolini in his new role. News of the hire is boosting shares of OSCR in today's premarket. Shares are up 25.0% ahead of the open. My Take: I don't know much about this guy, but Ray Dalio is no slouch. Bertolini must have some talent if he worked in such a high-level role at Mr. Dalio's firm. It could be a good opportunity to open a position in this micro-cap insurance stock. Birds Global [BRDS] - Last Close: $0.1363 A regulatory filing is lifting shares of Birds Global this morning. A Form SC 13D/A filing revealed Craft Ventures had amassed a significant position in the micromobility company. According to the filing, Craft Ventures now has control of roughly 3.4% of the company's total share float. Just yesterday, the company also announced that several officers and directors had just purchased a total of 1.5 million shares. In a statement from the company, CEO Share Torchiana said the purchase "reflect[s] our ongoing confidence in Bird's future and our ability to increase long-term shareholder value. Shares inexplicably fell on Monday following the share purchase announcement, but they're rallying back in today's session. BRDS is this morning's most actively-traded stock, and it's a top premarket performer with a 30.3% gain. My Take: BRDS has a high short ratio of 12.54%, which could provide some explanation for today's seemingly exaggerated move.
