EdtechX Holdings SPAC [EDTX] - Last Close: $11.25 A regulatory filing is giving EdtechX a boost. After Wednesday's close, the SPAC announced that shareholders had voted to approve its request to extend the deadline for its business combination. The SPAC has proposed a combination with zSpace Inc, but the deal hasn't been closed yet. The deal-making deadline was previously set for today. After the shareholder approval, EdtechX now has until Dec. 15th, 2023, to close the transaction. EDTX is up 101.1% on news of the favorable shareholder vote. My Take: EDTX has performed surprisingly well this year, and this news sparked a massive rally in its shares. It looks like there's a lot of bullish sentiment behind this under-the-radar SPAC. This morning, the company said is utilizing AI-driven software engineering services and solutions to expand and develop its proprietary indoor air quality solutions. The company said the developments will help solve the $400 billion post-harvest crop spoilage along supply chains. AUVI is up 13.9% on the news. My Take: This is just a buzz-word rally at this point. Anytime a company says it's using AI, shares go up, so don't put too much faith in this AUVI announcement. Microvision [MVIS] - Last Close: $4.60 A premarket announcement sparked a relief rally in shares of Microvision. Early this morning, the LiDAR firm canceled a previous announced public offering of its common shares, citing unexpected market volatility.
However, CEO Sumit Sharma said the company plans to explore other capital raising opportunities. Microvision has previously planned an underwritten public offering of $75 million worth of common stock. News of the canceled offering lifted MVIS to a 21.5% gain in today's premarket. My Take: This LiDAR stock had a great start to the year, but it has pulled back significantly over the past couple of weeks. MVIS could have some swing trade potential.
