Friend, we’re fired up.
As you may know, lawmakers recently introduced the Net Neutrality and Broadband Justice Act in Congress — and it’s our best chance right now to win back Net Neutrality and a free and open internet.
There’s just one (very big) problem: Internet service providers are throwing a ton of money to try and convince members of Congress — especially those running for reelection this fall — to stop this bill.
But don’t just take it from us — here’s what Comcast’s lobbying budget looks like in contrast to Free Press Action’s ENTIRE budget: We’re launching a grassroots campaign Congress won’t be able to ignore. Can we count on your generous support to bring back Net Neutrality with a donation to Free Press Action today? Comcast’s influence in Washington has already been instrumental in stalling Gigi Sohn’s confirmation to serve as the tiebreaking commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission. Comcast and other ISPs are terrified of ceding their power to people like you who rely on an open internet to reach loved ones, share stories, organize for justice and so much more.
But here’s the thing: There’s overwhelming public support for real Net Neutrality all across the political spectrum. If we can get enough elected officials to listen to us, we have a real shot at making the Net Neutrality and Broadband Justice Act a priority in Congress this fall.
Comcast may have the money but we have the people. Please consider making an urgent donation to Free Press Action so we can restore strong Net Neutrality rules and save the open internet we deserve. Thanks for all that you do,
Heather, Candace and the rest of the Free Press Action team freepress.net
P.S. Comcast is using its massive lobbying budget and its political connections to try to torpedo the Net Neutrality and Broadband Justice Act. Please donate today to help us push this bill over the finish line. |
