Tuesday, October 29 Half-Day Online Course | 4 Credit Hours
Safety and De-Escalation Foundations for Frontline Staff, intended for public-facing librarians and frontline staff, will teach you how to manage conflict and safety concerns proactively by learning strategies and tactics for conflict resolution, de-escalation, and long-term safety in your library. Over a half day online on Oct. 29, you’ll learn about trauma-informed practices for engaging with safety concerns, and you’ll get tools to help you respond to security issues in order to promote safety in your library and classroom.
Here’s what one past student said about the course:
"This course exceeded my expectations! This was an entirely different perspective on de-escalation than I have previously experienced. Very timely. Very aligned with a shift toward equity, belonging, trauma-informed, self-care, and whole-person librarianship."
