CAMERON ART MUSEUM RAISES OVER $267K

AT OUR CLOSE TO HOME GALA

THANK YOU!

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude to our community for supporting

our vision through our 2024 Close to Home gala!”

- CAM’s Executive Director Heather Wilson

Saturday night at the Cameron Art Museum was the place to be as we celebrated the opening of Close to Home - our largest exhibition of CAM's permanent collection ever mounted - and welcomed over 300 guests to our

Close to Home Gala.

This pivotal evening in the museum’s fundraising strategy drew committed donors, local luminaries, art advocates, artists, and honored guests from the Cape Fear region and across the state to celebrate the commitment the

Cameron Art Museum makes in its daily programs, education and accessibility to art for the southeastern North Carolina community.

The evening’s festivities raised $267,150 with the financial support of

Hampton Inn as Premier Sponsor, many local business organizations and countless individuals in attendance.

"CAM is more than a repository for art – it is a cultural hub for everyone. We have a vision for Cameron Art Museum – a vision to take care of our growing and evolving collection and to be an inclusive cultural gathering place for the state, drawing visitors to our region, acting as both an economic driver and a powerful asset for tourism.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude to our community for supporting our vision through our 2024 Close to Home gala!” - Executive Director, Heather Wilson

During the evening's incredible program and live auction, host Ray Kennedy along with the museum’s Executive Director, Heather Wilson led a dynamic auction for a fund-a-need campaign - Art For All. With a $50,000 match gift from the Anonymous Trust, the evening’s guests raised an overwhelming $115.650 for CAM’s Art for All programs which help fund such programs as CAM Community Days, art-making classes for veterans as well as people suffering from Alzheimers and

dementia and their caregivers, community art projects, scholarships in

CAM’s Museum School, and more.

The night was made extra special with the talents of CAM Cafe's Chef Chip Pridgen, Dance Cooperative, Man Groove, and Fantasy Band.
