Spruce up your garden & win up to $300

 
The Spring Garden competition is now on. Spruce up your front garden, verge or balcony for a chance to win a $100, $200 or $300 Bunnings voucher. All participants will receive a small prize for their efforts. It doesn't need to be a big job, just a general tidy up to help keep our streets looking great. 

To enter, send a photo of your green paradise to commdev@cockburn.wa.gov.au by Sunday 31 October.

Free leadership workshop for Cockburn community


Want to grow your leadership skills and be a leader in your community? Come join us for a fantastic session full of amazing insights and information. The four-hour course will cover the following topics:
  • Attributes of effective leaders
  • Recognising your own leadership qualities
  • Leading from within an organisation
  • Communication for leadership
Saturday 6 November 2021, 10am-2pm, Cockburn Seniors Centre, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood.

Did you know that all Cockburn not-for-profit groups are eligible for 500 free colour prints per month at the Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre.

Introduction to Facebook Groups - free workshop

 
Come along and take a deep dive into Facebook groups. These groups not only are the online counterpart for community groups, but often serve a purpose of their own to keep us connected. This workshop will look at the three key areas
  • Setting a Facebook group up correctly
  • How to attract and build a community
  • How to moderate and manage the Facebook group into the future

Success Residents Association seeking local people

The Success Residents Association is reforming and looking for local people who want to get involved and make a difference in the suburb. 

Come along on Tuesday 26 October, 6pm to the Success Library Community Room to socialise with community minded people over drinks and food, and find out about getting involved in the group.

Upskill your organisation about inclusion and access for people with disability. There are several free courses through Carers WA including: Employing people with Disability, Creating Inclusion in Sport & Recreation, and NDIS education.

Let's talk... Marketing!


Cockburn residents are invited to an informal learning series titled: Let's Talk. The Community Development team will lead the session by presenting some key concepts around the topic, and then open the discussion to everyone present to share ideas. 

The next topic is Marketing, scheduled for Tuesday 12 October, 11am-12pm at The Quarie in Hammond Park. Everyone welcome, no RSVP required just come along.
