£20 Million Fund to Support People to Upskill and Retrain An initial 25 projects designed to help meet skills needs in a range of sectors will receive a share of up to £20 million as part of the National Transition Training Fund (NTTF). The fund will benefit industries across Scotland from digital technology and social care to tourism, cybersecurity and construction. Since being established in October 2020, it has helped over 6,000 individuals, and this second phase of funding has the potential to provide more than 20,000 additional training opportunities. |

Green Jobs Fund Closes Next Week The Green Jobs Fund, created to help businesses create jobs that contribute to improving the environment and achieving net-zero emissions, will close its first round of applications next Thursday, 24th June, at 12 noon. The fund, administered by Scottish Enterprise, offers grants between £50,000 and £500,000 and can support between 10 per cent and 50 per cent of eligible project costs depending on factors such as company size, location and project activities. Strand 2 of Scotland Coach Operators COVID19 Business Support and Continuity Fund Strand 2 of the fund has been created following feedback from the industry that recognises a funding gap for coach operators with a lower percentage of their turnover coming from coach tourism/private coach hire. The £1.6 million fund, administered by Visit Scotland, will support coach operators in Scotland whose turnover in 2019/20 from coach tourism/private coach hire made up more than 40 per cent of their total turnover. Plans To Transform Heart Of Fife Into Leading Leisure Destination A significant deal has been struck for the purchase of land near Dunfermline, to be developed by National Pride into an Eco-Therapy Wellness Park. The 930-acre St Ninians and Loch Fitty site, which adjoins the M90 at Junction 4, identified for tourism and leisure uses in the Fife Development Plan, will be developed into a leisure destination combining nature and guests in a destination of immersive activity with areas for relaxation and rejuvenation. Small Businesses in Scotland Encouraged to Apply for Brexit Support Funding With two weeks to go before the deadline, small and medium-sized businesses in Scotland are being encouraged to apply for funding to help them adapt to new customs and tax rules when trading with the EU. The £20 million Brexit Support Fund, administered by Price Waterhouse for HMRC, which closes on 30th June, enables businesses who trade with the EU to access up to £2,000 of funding for practical support, including training and professional advice on new customs, rules of origin and VAT processes.
