On the 19th March 2020, The Home Office introduced the new Fire Safety Bill, in an effort to improve fire safety in buildings in England and Wales. The Bill has now passed through the parliamentary process to become law – The Fire Safety Act 2021.
Network Rail has been fined £696,666 after pleading guilty to an offence under the Health and Safety at Work Act, for failing to protect the safety of staff following an incident at Godinton substation in Kent at the end of 2018.
